Fertility Services
Sometimes, nature doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to. Fortunately, we’re experts at nurturing and promoting fertility, with the goal of helping women and couples fulfill their dreams of parenthood. In short, we build families.
For women and couples suffering from the inability to conceive, success begins with prompt and efficient evaluation of all factors, including physiology, lifestyle, diet and more. We then work with you to provide appropriate pharmaceutical and noninvasive treatments that promote the natural enhancement of fertility. At Plessala Gynecology & Fertility, our goal is to alleviate stress and create an atmosphere of hope, compassion and results.
Post Miscarriage &
Pregnancy Loss Care
We understand how difficult a miscarriage or pregnancy loss can be. You feel like your whole world is shattered. We also understand the fear you feel about tomorrow. That’s where we come in.
Built on the foundation of faith and the respect for the dignity of every life, Plessala Gynecology & Fertility provides expert evaluation for possible underlying and treatable causes. We then make recommendations for indicated treatments including lifestyle changes, preconception changes, post-ovulation/luteal phase support and post-conception support. We’re here to help you build a future full of promise.
Hormone Therapy
Your body functions on a multitude of hormones originating from many different sources, such as the pituitary gland, thyroid glands, adrenal glands, pancreas and ovaries. Good health depends on maintaining a proper balance of these hormones. When things get out of balance, Plessala Gynecology & Fertility offers evaluation and treatment for hormonal imbalances in the pre-, peri- and post-menopausal stages of life.
Signs and symptoms of hormone issues typically include:
- Menstrual problems
- Weight problems
- Emotional problems
- Cosmetic problems with hair and complexion
- Fertility problems
- Energy and fatigue problems
While we will consider all hormonal therapy options, our special focus is on bioidentical hormone therapy, which we find to be more effective for many patients.
PCOS Treatment
(Polycystic Ovarian Disease)
Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOS) affects about 10% of women and can present a complex and diverse clinical picture. It can cause a variety of problems and health risks both in the present and the future. These include:
- Ovarian dysfunction leading to hormone imbalance
- Infertility
- Excessive expression of male hormone activity leading to excessive hair growth and complexion changes like acne
- Obesity due to changes in glucose tolerance, insulin production and metabolic syndrome
PCOS can also lead to an elevated risk for future medical conditions, such as elevated cholesterol, Type 2 diabetes and coronary artery disease.
Fortunately, the team at Plessala Gynecology & Fertility can accurately diagnose PCOS using a combination of labs and ultrasound. We will then make recommendations for an individualized treatment plan that includes lifestyle changes, dietary changes, and medication interventions.
